There is a definite buzz building in Georgia about our campaign in. People across the state and across the political spectrum are excited about my plans to bring change to Washington. In fact, another new poll shows that Georgians prefer my message of growing the economy, tackling our debt, and getting rid of the dysfunction in Washington over the DC-insider message of my opponent. Though our momentum continues to build, my opponent will not stop in her efforts to get to the Senate to be a proxy for Barack Obama and Harry Reid. That’s why we can’t let up- not for a second! If I am elected in November, I will work to ensure that all Georgians have a better future ahead of them.
ATLANTA, GA – Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, David Perdue, has received the endorsement of former President George H.W. Bush. The announcement came after Perdue personally visited with President Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush over the weekend.
David Perdue said, “President George H.W. Bush is a steadfast leader for the conservative values that are needed to move Georgia and our country forward. I am truly humbled and honored to have his confidence and support in this critical election. President Bush understands the urgency to getting our country back on track, and I remain committed to being a problem solver in Washington.”
President Bush said, “I am proud to endorse David Perdue in this critically important Senate race because I am genuinely worried about the direction in which our beloved country is heading – and I understand many Georgians share this deep concern. Getting our economy back on track is one of the many keys to getting America back on track, and David Perdue’s success in the private sector – meeting a payroll and dealing with regulations – gives him the kind of real-world experience that Washington, DC is sorely lacking today. But just as important, I have lost any confidence in the current Senate leadership, and believe David Perdue will be an independent voice for Georgia while working for positive solutions to our toughest challenges. Barbara and I commend him to every Georgian voter who cares about America’s future.”
Our campaign continues to build momentum as another new poll shows that people throughout Georgia are excited about my ideas fix the dysfunction in Washington, grow our economy, and tackle our national debt.
As we continue to spread our message throughout Georgia, we expect our coalition to grow even larger.
Georgians know that we need to our economy, that we can’t spend what we don’t have, and that DC insiders like Michelle Nunn make our problems worse. That’s why they deserve a United States Senator who will fight every day to offer a fresh perspective to tackle our nation’s toughest problems and bring positive change to Washington!
ATLANTA, GA – Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, David Perdue, has received the endorsement of the National Rifle Association. The NRA, established in 1871, represents more than five million members nationwide and is America’s foremost defender of Second Amendment rights.
In response to the endorsement, David Perdue, said, “I am honored to receive the support of the NRA and its members across the state of Georgia. As a lifelong hunter and sportsman, I know the Second Amendment is not only about hunting. It is about our right to protect our family, our property, and even our country if necessary. As Georgia’s next U.S. Senator, I will fight to protect our Second Amendment right and constitutional freedoms.”
Chairman of the NRA, Chris W. Cox, added, “As a son of Middle Georgia who grew up hunting with family and friends, David understands that our Second Amendment transcends hunting. David recognizes that the Second Amendment is a fundamental, individual constitutional right. He has stated his commitment to defending it from elitist gun control advocates like President Obama and Mike Bloomberg. We can count on David Perdue to stand up for our constitutional freedoms in the U.S. Senate. The NRA encourages all gun owners and sportsmen in Georgia to vote David Perdue for U.S. Senate on November 4.”
A new study shows that because of Obamacare, hardworking Americans employed by small businesses stand to lose more money from their paychecks – almost $11 billion per year!
Due to Obamacare, many hardworking Georgians now have more than $700 taken from their paychecks every year.
That hard-earned money could be used for filling up the gas tank, buying groceries, or saving for your children’s education. But liberals like in Washington want to use it for their own agenda.
Sadly, vanishing take-home pay isn’t the only negative impact that Obama and Michelle Nunn ‘s healthcare law has on Georgia families. Not only does Obamacare reduce access to doctors, cancel coverage, and raid programs like Medicare Advantage, but it also hurts jobs.
Georgia has seen more than seven thousand jobs disappear due to Obamacare, and certain portions of the law are not even in full effect yet.
I oppose Obamacare because it hurts our small businesses, which makes us less competitive in a global market, and it raises costs for Georgia families who are still struggling in Obama’s economy.
If elected to the United States Senate, I will work to help Georgia families by getting rid of this burdensome law, and replacing it with an alternative policy that will lower the cost of healthcare, expand access, and allows Georgians to keep more of their hard earned paychecks.
President Obama and Michelle Nunn would like you to think that their liberal plans are good for our economy, but the truth is millions of Americans are still struggling. Their Washington-based economic policies and runaway spending have held back our nation’s economic recovery.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics recently released jobs numbers from August, and the results are grim: a mere 142,000 jobs were created last month, and around 60,000 people dropped out of the labor force, resulting in a labor force participation rate (the amount of working-age Americans employed or looking for a job) of 62.8 percent- its lowest rate since Jimmy Carter was President.
Fewer Americans are working or even looking for a job since 1978, yet liberals in Washington continue to ignore growing the economy and continue to their reckless spending.
Traveling across the state, I have spoken with countless Georgians who are concerned about the economic direction of our nation. It’s disappointing that we have to tell our kids and grandkids that they will not be better off than the previous generation.
Barack Obama has not taken the right steps to get our country back on track, and he knows in order to continue his liberal agenda, he needs Michelle Nunn. Together, they would be able to institute burdensome regulations, double-down on Obamacare, and avoid taking on the tough issues.
Georgians deserve a Senator who will fight every day to grow our economy and create jobs. Only then will we be able to confidently tell the next generation that they are inheriting a strong nation.
In a purely political stunt, President Obama decided to delay executive action on immigration until after Election Day to protect Senate Democrats and his hand-picked candidates like Michelle Nunn who support amnesty.
President Obama’s explanation on NBC’s Meet The Press was very telling: “The truth of the matter is—is that the politics did shift midsummer because of that problem.” He added: “When I take executive action, I want to make sure that it’s sustainable.”
What’s worse is that the President still plans to go around the law once it’s too late for Georgians to hold his party accountable. This is Washington politics at its worst.
As the Wall Street Journal writes: “President Obama says he still plans to unilaterally rewrite immigration law—but not until after the election so he can spare Democrats in Congress from the wrath of voters for doing so. And he wonders why Americans are cynical about politics?”
Our Founders created a system of checks and balances to prevent any one branch of government from becoming too powerful. Today, that system is under attack as President Obama continues to circumvent Congress and use executive overreach to pursue his imperial presidency.
The President’s failed policies have created the current illegal immigration crisis. Taking unilateral action on amnesty, now or after Election Day, is not only an abuse of power but extremely dangerous for our national security. Securing our borders and enforcing current laws must remain our top priority.
After reading Michelle Nunn’s so-called “jobs plan” it’s clear her campaign will stop at nothing to deceive Georgians about who she really is and what she stands for. This confusing attempt to describe her vision for job creation is full of contradictions. Michelle Nunn mimics many of David’s ideas and then immediately undercuts them by advocating some of the same failed liberal approaches that caused the economic problems in the first place.
Missing from the “jobs plan” are obvious solutions to address the economic crisis President Obama and Democrats in Washington have created. For example, Michelle Nunn claims she is for reducing the regulatory burdens on small businesses, but completely ignores the negative impacts of Obamacare, which is cutting back workers hours and increasing costs for families. Similarly, she claims she supports energy independence, but refuses to address how burdensome regulations on the coal industry will raise energy prices and destroy jobs.
By talking out of both sides of her mouth on specific policies, Michelle Nunn is simply trying to cover up how she will support Obama and Reid’s liberal policies for bigger government, the disaster that is Obamacare, amnesty and open borders. Georgians want a leader in the U.S. Senate who will deliver real results, not someone who will say one thing to get elected and then do another.
David Perdue has consistently provided a clear vision and serious solutions to grow our economy, tackle our skyrocketing national debt, and fix what’s wrong with Washington. He has championed commonsense policies that will roll back the onslaught of Obama’s regulations, reform our broken tax system, develop all American energy resources, repeal Obamacare and replace it with a patient-centered approach, expand education opportunities for all students, and boost exports for agriculture and manufacturing by keeping America competitive.
