With qualifying formally coming to a close in Georgia, it’s official: U.S. Senator David Perdue will be the nominee of a unified Republican Party as he seeks re-election this November.
No other Republicans entered the race for Senator Perdue’s seat, guaranteeing that no candidates will challenge the Senator in the Republican primary.
“I’m truly humbled by the breadth of support Georgia voters have shown for our movement to change the status quo in Washington,” said U.S. Senator David Perdue, who continues to unify Georgians across the state. “We’ve accomplished so much these last few years and we’re just getting started, I look forward to continuing our fight to deliver real results for all Georgians as I seek re-election this November.”
“David Perdue’s positive, results-driven message as the original outsider continues to resonate with Georgia voters, and his unopposed candidacy for the Republican nomination is a testament to his popularity as a leader who delivers,” said Perdue for Senate Campaign Chairman Alec Poitevint. “He’s paved the way for record economic growth, secured funding for the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, strengthened our HBCU’s, supported our military families and ensured disaster aid for our farmers. David continues to get results for Georgia families. Our state is fortunate to have him as our Senator.”
“With socialist Democrats pushing their big-government agenda on Georgia families, we need David Perdue fighting for us in the United States Senate more than ever,” said Perdue for Senate Campaign Manager Ben Fry. “David is committed to leading the GOP to victory in Georgia this November. Working with President Trump, our 159 county grassroots organization, and other conservatives up and down the ballot, we will make 2020 a great year for our country’s future and stop the radical socialist agenda in its tracks.”
