FACT CHECK: In New Ad, Jon Ossoff Repeats False Claim About Campaign Contributions
On Friday, privileged liberal Jon Ossoff released his second paid TV ad where he repeated false claims about corporate PAC’s, stating publicly that he wouldn’t take “a dime” of their money while privately accepting large sums of it for his campaign.
Ossoff claims he is “refusing donations from corporate PAC’s,” but this is blatantly false. Ossoff has taken at least $30,000 from corporately-funded PAC’s, according to his latest FEC report. Some of these PAC’s have taken money from healthcare companies who Ossoff has criticized in his previous television advertisements. Ossoff has also hypocritically taken over $240,000 from corporate executives and lobbyists.
“Jon Ossoff has repeatedly claimed that he won’t take corporate PAC money in public while accepting large sums of it in private,” said Perdue for Senate Communications Director John Burke. “Ossoff is trying to mislead the public after breaking a major campaign promise. The people of Georgia can’t trust a word he says.”
