Privileged Liberal Jon Ossoff Abandons Corporate Money Pledge As Three Quarters Of His Q2 Donations Come From Outside Georgia
Privileged liberal Jon Ossoff’s FEC report proved two things that we already knew to be true: 1) his campaign is bankrolled by wealthy donors in California, New York, and other liberal states 2) his claim that he wouldn’t take any corporate PAC money was completely false.
Of the itemized donations Ossoff received during the second fiscal quarter, only 27 percent came from the state of Georgia. Almost as much came from California donors alone while donors in New York and Massachusetts gave him hundreds of thousands of dollars as well.
Ossoff has also abandoned his pledge to not take any corporate money. Records show that Ossoff took tens of thousands of dollars from corporate-funded leadership PAC’s affiliated with Democrat Senators including Patty Murray, Catherine Cortez Masto, and Martin Heinrich. Many of these PAC’s took donations from pharmaceutical companies who Ossoff has directly criticized in his campaign ads. This follows a similar pattern for Ossoff, who also funneled corporate money to his campaign during his failed run for Congress in 2017 in an apparent attempt to shield the nature of these donations from the public.
“Jon Ossoff is exactly who we thought he was, a privileged liberal bankrolled by out-of-state radicals,” said Perdue for Senate Communications Director John Burke. “Ossoff has broken his word to not take corporate PAC money and has made his campaign nothing more than a front for New York and California liberals who want to buy the state of Georgia for Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. Georgians will not be fooled by Ossoff’s false rhetoric and will reject him and his radical donors this November.”
