Senator David Perdue and President Donald Trump Highlight Georgia’s World Class Infrastructure
ATLANTA, GA – Yesterday, U.S. Senator David Perdue welcomed President Donald Trump to Georgia to highlight the state’s world class infrastructure and announce a major transportation initiative. The President is taking new action to expedite key transportation projects in Georgia – such as the expansion of Interstate-75.

Senator Perdue joined Bloomberg TV to preview the President’s visit to Georgia and discuss the importance of the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP) to America’s economy. After nearly 20 years of delays at the federal level, Senator Perdue worked with President Trump to break through the logjam and finally secure full funding for SHEP. Thanks to this historic investment, the Port of Savannah is now the United States’ largest exporter of agricultural goods.

The President is flying down to Georgia today to make an announcement about how he’s clearing ways to continue rebuilding America’s infrastructure. He’s changing a rule that will simplify and modernize the review process and accelerate important infrastructure projects….
“In Georgia, we have the Port of Savannah, the third largest, fastest growing, and most productive port in the country. The President broke the logjam after 20 years of trying to deepen the Port of Savannah just five feet. It is now fully funded and set to be completed.”
