After Months Of Enabling Anarchy, Jon Ossoff Scrambles To Cover Up His Failures
After backing the radical “defund the police” movement and using threatening language against his political opponents, Jon Ossoff is desperately trying to cover up his failures on public safety issues to protect his political aspirations.
After months of staying silent on the growing violence in America’s major cities, Ossoff’s campaign put out a statement this morning that blamed Republicans for inciting riots in Portland and Kenosha. This conveniently comes as a direct reaction to worsening polls for Democrats on public safety issues. Ossoff made this claim despite the fact that both of those cities are run by Democrat mayors in states with Democrat governors. Ossoff laid none of the blame on local politicians of his own party. Unlike Ossoff, Senator Perdue has consistently condemned violent riots in recent months while calling for common sense police reform that would ensure the men and women who protect all of us have the resources they need to keep communities safe.
This comes after Ossoff joined his party’s attacks on law enforcement, stating in June that police funding needs to be “on the line,” even as shootings and violent crime skyrocketed in Atlanta. Ossoff has previously incited violence from his supporters, claiming earlier this year he wanted Republicans to get “beaten so bad” they would never be able to “show their faces” in public again.
“Jon Ossoff’s desperate about-face on the growing violence throughout America isn’t fooling anyone,” said Perdue for Senate Communications Director John Burke. “Ossoff has been complicit in his party’s enabling of violence and lawlessness, even encouraging it. He is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the radical Democrats leading his party who are inciting anarchy to further their destructive agenda.”
